– I’d smoke that – drumsticks with my favorite recipe
What I get asked the most to make is smoked wings and drumsticks! It apparently was time to do another batch!

Following my recipe from 2023, I used Traeger Cherry pellets and shook on Traeger Everything Rub and Traeger Chicken Garlic and Chile Rub. I put the each rub in a sandwich bag so I could keep them clean! I did all this outside with two disposable aluminum pans so I could pat them dry and then sprinkle the seasoning on in the other pan, flipping them after I put on both rubs. Costco drumsticks come packaged in 6 sealed bags – I used all 10 pounds and they were unfrozen from the store.
I followed everything except that when I turned the temp to 225 I did not turn them at that point.
Preheated to 180 (smoke setting)
30 min at 180
Turn
30 min at 180
30 min at 225
Turn
30 min at 275, check them 1/2 way through and start to look to move things around as needed – things start to get going at 275!
Up to 30 min at 325, moving them as needed to handle different size chicken as well as the fact the grill is hotter near the gas exit (the right side of the grill).

This time i also added some Bacon! After pulling the wings i bumped the temp to 375 and cooked 2 lbs of bacon (1 lb at a time). It turned out great – just put it right on the grill.
